"Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved staying here! It was our first vacation together. We stayed in cabin 38, it was in the perfect location (the patio with the hot tub was behind the trees so you had a lot of privacy - other cabin decks are not so private) The walks in the forest were nice too, we were lucky with the weather :) Make sure to pack walking shoes! I would 100% stay here again. The staff is lovely too. My only criticism is that I wish , the bar would open later as it closes at 8pm haha."

"Our only issue is that the sofas in the lodge are very low and the seat depth is too deep for the average person. But all the furniture is of good quality and the beds were very comfortable. The jacuzzi was fantastic."

"We stayed here for a week 15th - 22nd July with our 2 mini Daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed their stay and made new friends in Thaxted village. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it is the hottest days of the year were so the water was chilled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming it was nice to see there being brought to the fields every day en route near Stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes fly in. I would definitely recommend Hide.

"The beautiful cottage is on a working farm but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good facilities in the kitchen and bathroom. Charming half-timbered house with a great powerful shower, cozy eat-in kitchen and a very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking right next to the rented house. Well heated and very charming and spotlessly clean.Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy driving distance of the village crammed with half timbered houses and windmills.

“Such a lovely place to stay in a really lovely, private location. The owners were very friendly and helpful, being close by when needed but without compromising the sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of biking! One thing to note The cottage is directly under the Stansted flight path and as a result there is a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a few hours to get used to it and it didn't affect our holiday at all, but something to consider if you are sensitive to noise.
